Leadership Development
Wal-Mart – Since 1992, Randy has been a facilitator at the Walton Institute of Retailing, a three day leadership program for store managers. He has also worked to redesign the program as organization needs have changed.
Hewlett-Packard/Compaq – Randy has designed and facilitated one-day workshops on Coaching and Performance Management for new managers at HP. This included “Train-the-Trainer” development for internal facilitators.
McLane Company – This grocery distribution company included Randy in the design team to create a six-day team leadership program for its front line supervisors and managers. Randy also facilitated this program as part of an on-going relationship.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System/Texas Heart Institute – Randy developed a series of leadership “mini-workshops” for managers to improve their skills in communications, delegation, conflict resolution, prioritizing and coaching. Randy also presented “Managing the Generational Mix” – how to work with the different age generation groups – at St. Luke’s annual management conference.
BP – Randy has facilitated a Mentoring workshop for managers of high potential BP engineers.
Anadarko Petroleum – Randy designed and facilitated training for every manager and supervisor in the organization on how to coach their employees using the company’s new performance management forms.
Leading Change
Hewlett-Packard/Compaq – Randy helped design and facilitate “Leading During Uncertain Times,” a series of four workshops to provide managers with “just-in-time” leadership tools to use during the HP-Compaq integration process.
Randy was also involved with their earlier merger integration efforts, facilitating “Train-the-Trainer” sessions on Change Management for internal change agents from the Compaq, Digital and Tandem organizations in Asia-Pacific.
Randy has also facilitated several “off-site” workshops for teams addressing reorganization and integration issues.
Anderson Merchandisers – Randy consulted with this privately owned music/video/book distribution company with 4000 employees to help the executive team identify and communicate its values and operating guidelines. They also addressed issues of executive team communications and change management. Follow-up consulting developed coaching processes to improve customer service management.
Riviana Foods – Randy worked with the Houston Plant Manager and his team over several years to improve a variety of leadership and change issues. Projects included developing a plant-wide vision, improving the leadership skills of supervisors and managers, Birkman Method assessment, and facilitating management team retreats.
